I will be bringing the race set ups from races in the future. I beleieve this will help each and everyone of us to be a better set up racer.

The first set up will from the last race at San's "Stonegate Raceway"..

I believe that our esteem President of the club will be the first recipient...

Wow, I would have guessed Mark's SS car had a different gear ratio than 7/21. It was cooking.

Bubba there are times and tracks that the 7/21 work great and then times
that you can't even drive the car. Not sure how or why that is but it
happens. As you get into the magnet cars you will find out that cars and tracks change from race to race and track to track. Summer and winter change the tracks and rquire different setups on the cars.
If one can take the time to keep a note book on tracks and car setups
it would be a big help as you go back to tracks through out a MASCAR season.

Hey there Bubba, If you look at the breakdown that I gave on this subject you will see how to figure out what to run on what track. Laughing

Yep, that was part of how I got the pole at the SS race! Ran one of those gear ratios, as well as the tires you suggested.

Keep up the info!

Steve -

Have my e-mails gotten through at all, I kindof doubt it since I didn't hear from you. Send me a private message on here with your e-mail.

Question: For SS using a Storm on Tim's track, what tire size would you start off with in the rear? I'm guessing for my car about .440, as .338 was just barely touching the rails on Dan's Tomy track last time.

Bubba, You can e-mail me at teamxfactor@yahoo.com

I have gotten some of your e-mails. I am not sure which ones I have not answered??

You have to think about that Tim's track is High Down Force. You might want to try and switch the traction magnents around to Low down force. I ran that type of set up at the ECRS race and finished 2nd to Victor.

I think you are real close with the tire size choice. You might need to be 2-4 thou higher or lower depending on the number of people and how the temp is. I believe that you should be running around .460-.465 fronts...

I hope to make it down to Tim's house before the next race. I hear there might be track time on friday before the race.

Bubba you can call me and we can talk a little more indepth about other things to look for...

Steve -

As far as I recall we only chatted about Tjet shells, not the SS questions I had. No sweat.

Thanks for the advice. I was going to talk to Dan about maybe doing some set up work on his routed track. Not the same, but might be close enough to get in the ball park. I won't be able to make Tim's the night before if he is open. Sad

I got some new gears and such to play with, so I'm starting to get a small inventory. Also told Mark I'm buying one of your big-foot SS cars!!!!

Hope things work out this time for you and the SS race....NO MORE SNOW!

Bubba

Thats cool Bubba. I can still help you out when you get there saturday morning. We can still sit down and talk about set ups and any other tips you may need to know about. You can call me as well to talk about things and what parts you might need to get. I will help you out with any of the cars that you get from Mark.

Always appreciated! I'll pay back what I can when you come Tjet racin' again. All you need to do is borrow a Lewis car!

Ok, what about shoe selection? Copper vs silver plated? I see folks run either at times. What drives the selection, if anything tangible?
