Nitro Stage I/II customer comments:

Actually the controller isnt all that new. I got my first one (100- 140) for the shootout last October, but to be quite frank it was such a radical departure from what I had that I didnt use it that weekend. But after getting home and taking the time to thouroughly try it out all I could say was WOW.
The control I had was terrific, no more rolling through the corners, now I could POWER through the corners. My track record took a major beating the first hour I ran it. I got back on the phone with Jerry the next day to tell him the results and mentioned that even more OHMs would enhance my feel even more and it just so happened that he thought he could go up to the 180 range.....sweet.
Well, so much for the new track records, they didnt last long after getting the 140-180. If I remember right the record fell after the third lap of hooking the gun up!!! I thought I had control before, now I was powering all the way through the corners, way too cool!!! It tamed the orange track at the Fray like it was nothing, I could power through the whole track. Thats impressive.
The great part about the control is the fact that you can dial in or out power which makes it great for tuning in the car to the track. I havent tried the 225 yet as I have taken a bit of time off from tjets (yea right....doesnt work!) but when I ramp back up this fall that is the first thing on my list.
Also,my local teamates immediatly ordered one upon trying mine and havent used their electronics since. Jerry has come up with what I think is "The next level" in controllers for tjets. Awesome pruduct. Thanks Jerry,
Brad

Jerry deserves a huge pat on the back for bringing this control to the market. And I think as more people give it a try it will change tjet racing as we know it a bit. I know it has drastically changed what I would consider running on any given track.
I believe his new control holds all the tjet track records in the Central Oh club. I also know the other local guys who have tried it have broke their track records within a half hour of hooking it up. If that isn't testamony enough to how good it is I have no clue what would be!!!!
Ill admit Ive been a little closed mouthed about it other than to the local guys, but a good racer knows to keep his mouth shut when he finds an advantage. But now the cats out of the bag and I have to appologize to Jerry for not saying more publicly than I have. I also never said too much before because Im not a "well known" racer.
Back to work,
Brad

preface; all opinions and perspectives are entirely my own personal observations. ....
That said, there has been a new development and break through in resistor based tjet controller technology. Jerry Schmoyer of BRP (Bowman Racing Products) has designed and made available to the public, the finest resistor based tjet controller I have ever tested.I feel the day has finally come that there is now a resistor based controller available that is purpose designed, built and ideally matched for tjet specific usage.Jerry offers two styles of his newly designed controllers. The Stage I, based on the Parma econo series platform and also the Stage II,based on the Parma turbo platform. In both models, the unique technology break through comes from the ranges of resistance that Jerry recognized essential to running tjets and unlike any other controller I've tested, the range of resistance is fully adjustable through the ingenious addition of a variable sensitivity potentiometer. This newly designed feature allows the user to set the resistance to their personal liking. How cool is that? Not merely a selector switch but a fully adjustable sensitivity knob/pot! Jerry builds both models and offers them in 80-120,100-140, and 120-180 ohm ranges.A full spectrum of diversity for the tjet enthusiast. The first time I noticed Jerry's unique controllers, I though wow what a marvel idea. It's about time someone made a tjet controller so diverse. And even more important to me than anything else was I could now get something in the much needed more than 120 ohm range.Owning electronic as well as many 120 ohm resistor controllers, I have always felt the need for higher ohm tjet controllers. With the higher resistance and adjustable sensitivity much better control and stable cornering can be realized and appreciated especially on technical layouts.Although my other controllers (120 ohm) worked well on simple layouts, many times racing on more technical road courses I would realize I would have to repeatedly blip the trigger in and out when negotiating smaller curves. Now,with Jerry's new designed controller I can feel confident that there is plenty adjustability in the variable sensitivity to compensate for cornering smoothly on any type of track layout. After initial consultation with Jerry concerning his newly designed controllers it was very apparent that he was very cordial and understanding as well as most enthusiastic concerning the tjet slot car hobby and the tjet racers needs. After discussing various controller options,he offered to send me two different Stage II models for testing. With my inquiry,he even custom built them both with adjustable brake pots which isn't a standard offering.I had then asked out of curiosity what the highest resistance tjet controller he could build.Low and behold,I was surprised and excited when he sent one of the controllers a custom built 142-225 ohm model complete with adjustable brakes.Talk about satisfying the customers needs! It's a real nice unit! So,for a quick review of performance, the 120-180 ohm(adjustable sensitivity) model gives all my FRAY/NITRO etc. silicone tired cars excellent smooth ,stable and a confident feel all the way from slow through mid range to top end and still offering adjustability to suit any style track layout no matter what radius curves. Now,for the second test unit; the custom built 142-225 ohm(adjustable sensitivity) unit. I know what you must be thinking...225 ohms? geez,no way....Well, anymore I mostly promote tjet dirt car racing with rubber tires. Now I have the perfect complimentary controller. For any rubber tired tjet whether a race or pure stock,it's the nicest, smoothest handling controller I've ever tested. No more ill handling twitching, jumpy, or jerkiness... Smooth predictable handling even with the most unruly stock tjet. In my opinion,Jerry has made a controller that is readily available to all and he has designed a controller that has forever been needed by all tjet enthusiasts. I feel his new design and the venerable tjet to be the perfect marriage. Kinda like peanut butter is to jelly. Since Jerry's controllers arrived for testing,my electronic and my many 120 ohm units haven't been called upon. So,there you have my impression of a much appreciated product that was designed, built, and made readily available by one of the greatest, friendlies t,understanding, caring and most observant Tjet enthusiasts I've had the pleasure doing business with. My hope is that you will find the same enjoyable pleasure doing business with Jerry as what I had. Oh,yeah, I about forgot the good part...I never sent the test controllers back....I just sent a thin paper money order with a I'm sorry I kept your controller note! Hey everybody, thanks for listening and check out Jerry's controllers on BRP racing products web site.... And Jerry, not enough I can say how much I appreciate these controllers. I wish I would have had them many moons ago....I could have had a better chance winning more races...So, Big thanks to you and for you sharing your talents with the tjet world.Hats off to you Mr. Jerry Schmoyer. A friend in the hobby,
Tjettom Baker

Hi Jerry,
I received the gun today. DAMN!.......This thing is awesome. I broke my track record using it before I ran 30 laps. Heck, I hit a low 7.5 the second lap with a cold car, that's just plain impressive! I feel totally in control of the car using it. I can push very very hard through the corners because the throttle is so deep. After running a couple hundred laps, which flew by because I didn't come off, I settled and had the gun set to my liking. I did test the ohms when I was done running, 174. Just plain sweet,

BIG Thanks Jerry

I spent one evening using the new adjustable Nitro controller. Not alot of time - but enough to put a smile on my face. The first thing I noticed was the feel - the controller feels great with a nice smooth pull. The next thing I noticed was how well the cars performed when I used it. Very controllable down low - and with a big kick when you grab more trigger. Very much like a standard Nitro controller - but with the added feature of adjustability. You can adjust the feel of the controller to suit the twisty and technical sections of the track - and still have the response required for the faster sections. I believe many guys will find this controller to be the one they have been searching for. Great job.

Wow!!!! What an awesome controller. I have knocked off 2 tenths from my track record in less than 30 minutes of using this controller. Smoooooooth feel and super control. I am mixed about recommending this to anyone because I feel I will have an advantage. Great job guys!!!!!! And super fast shipping as well. Thanks BRP.

Hi jerry, First i just wanted to let you know how much I love the Nitro Stage I RTR Econo controllers. What a great product! I cannot believe how much better control I have racing my tjets with these! Before with my old controllers my style of racing was on and off of the trigger to get thru the turns without wrecking. Now with such fine control with the Nitro controllers I can keep the gas on even in the turns which does not upset the cars like before and with these being adjustable I can set the sensitivity for my individual taste. As you know I purchased 4 nitro stage I controllers (80-120 ohms) for my 4 lane home track. You should have heard all of the great comments my friends had to say when they came over to race! They make for better race nights with fewer wrecks now that the "amateurs" can control their cars. Ha Ha!! I now bought a total of 8 of the these from you. The quality is First Class! Thanks!
