Why are the ohms so high?
Recently there has been a demand for high resistance controllers beyond what we normally manufacture. Racers are trying to keep the T-jet under constant power when negotiating curves. In the past these cars were driven with an On-Off style that could unsettle the car. The instant application of power can cause a lateral jolt to the chassis. With higher ohms available, the car can either be kept under constant voltage or be given power at a much lower voltage. NOTE: These high resistances may not start your car moving but it will keep your car moving. Since your car never comes to a stop on the track the controller will always keep your car under power and moving.
Why use a resistor controller?
It gives a much better feel of the car. Electronic controllers lose the feel of driving the car and can make driving more difficult. A resistor controller provides a good feel that is preferred in T-jet racing. Also, electronic controllers may not always be protected by fuses. Reversing power to a resistor controller has no effect but it can be disastrous to an electronic controller.
