Do to the bike breaking a chain, only raced on Sunday...the Bat-Jet '57 Chevy finished 10th in the Southern 500, #13 Vega Mod from Bubba's Racecar Shells, won the Modified race.

On October 27th 2007 RCHORA took a BIG hit with the death of the "Rocketman" Donnie Ames while bird hunting in Iowa. At Sunday's RCHORA events all drivers present took a turn behind the wheel of Don's #16 Subway Taurus in remembrance of what he has meant to this club over the past 22 years. Don was a fierce competitor and motor builder who would give you the shirt of his back. He knew only one speed, FAST, and he drove every lap like it was the last one. There was no one better at building a motor and he did not discriminate who it was for.
