Day 6 Scottsville to Slate River

I had Donna Fenton on her Gili iSUP with me part of the day 6, as we paddled to 7 Island Farm. After four miles of slow, flat, and uneventful water, you get to a series of islands. Passing the Hardware River and it's aqueduct, with a picturesque double arch. We went through the culvert to access 7 Islands Farm, which usually had a watermelon feed in the river. I met Victor the owner, as he said they were bringing the watermelon to Slate River this evening. Donna went with Victor, as he was her ride back to Scottsville for her car. I carried on around the islands, on a fast moving current. Camping at Slate River is tight, but I found a spot next to Kathy O's Big Rig Glamping machine. A local group was serving some very tasty BBQ, and of course has some 7 Islands watermelon and helping myself to some surplus Bud Light. Anyother lovely evening on the rivah!
